I made something similar to the one on the left, but I still have a modified original stock. It came to me with the barrel already hacked to about 24", so I cut it to 16", crowned it, and added my custom brake. Total barrel length is now about 20". It's loud and makes a big fireball.

Nothing wrong with that. That is salvaging, not being a Bubba. I have half a dozen sporters that I have brought back from the scrap heap myself. That thing looks like it would be loud. And could possibly double as a flamethrower.

I don't care if he used a numbers matching sniper that was the personal rifle of Stalin. My hack job is a 1917 Remington. Of course it was hacked when I got it.

If you want a little more "Kick" just buy a Steyr M95/30 Mannlicher in 8x56R.

18 1/2" or so barrel and 7 1/2 lbs shooting a 200 g bullet at 2400 fps.

And they're Cheap at Big 5! guess why

Why not? A barreled action goes for around $30.
