    Latest C&R acquisitions

Picked up 3 C&Rs in the last month. All great deals, none of which I went looking for.

K31 1952, all matching recent SAMCO import. Excellent finish, like new bore. Stock has dings and dents but look more like storage than use. No hobnail boot damage and no soldier tag. Perhaps a war-reserve weapon? Paid $230 for it.

S&W Victory model made early 1944 in .38SW. U.S. acceptance marks + post war Austrian police stamp. Excellent bore. Obtained this from a fellow Calgunner.

Came with a WW2 U.S. M1942 holster for the 1917 S&W or 1917 Colt .45 revolvers. Don't know if the Austrians used these holsters for their Victory model .38s, the holster is a bit oversize for this revolver.

Lastly is a 1917 Webley MkVI .455 revolver. Got this one along with a complete WW2 web rig for the Webley. Looks to me to be a WW2 refinish as it is a matt black and not blued as originally made. Paid $625 all included.

Same revolver with my Webley MkIV .38s for a size comparison.

Nice. Ain't that the way of it? You don't go looking for something, and it pops right up.

@smle-man, really nice acquisitions!! Particularly the victory model and the Webley. I'm just curious about what ammo you use or reload for these .38s.

I picked up an Enfield No. 2 Mk1 last year, and so far my reloads have not been as accurate as the Kynoch 380 MK2z I found on ammunitiontogo.com (it's been sold out not long after).

      Thanks!

I use a 160gr .360 dia bullet from Western bullet company (on the web) and Unique. I won't quote the load but it is more than what the manuals indicate since they are limited to the strength of the Iver Johnson break tops that are still available in quantities. Accuracy is ok.

All of those are nice finds, but for me I really like the Smith. I have a very soft spot in my soul for the old S&W revolvers. Congrats on the great pick ups for the collection!

Well I just recieved a Japanese Type 38 carbine on friday http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=182833815,

and just won last night a 1903a3http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=184922239.

Shot the Type-38 carbine yesterday, this thing is sweet, and would make a great little hunting gun, may have to devise a scout scope mount, this is too nice to even think of messing with.

The 1903A3 might get converted into a 1903A4 repro sniper, depends on its condition and what it needs to get it running.

My Hakim rifle came through yesterday.

Got it from a guy from gunboards, http://forums.gunboards.com/showthre...akim-air-rifle.

Once I get some 8mm surplus, i'll make a ruckus over at Angeles.

@smle-man, thanks for the info. I actually have tried the 160gr H&G 512 from western bullet, but I'm using HP38 and MD Smith loading data. I have also tried some 124gr .357 JHP. I think at this point I'll have to experiment with the powder load. Thanks again! -bill
