Most accurate in order.
K31. Nothing under $1000 can beat them.
Springfield 1903 & 1903A3. Has the reputation of being very accurate in WW1. The 03A3's were even better with peep sights.
Mauser K98k. Grandfather of Most modern hunting rifles. Lots of after market stuff for them.
Lee Enfield No.4 MK1. Very accurate if in good condition.
M1 Garand. Very accurate for a semi-auto rifle. But can not outperform a tuned bolt action at extreme long range.
M14/M1A. Same as M1 Garand.
Mosin Nagant 91/30. Sturdy, simple, crude, reliable, but not very accurate compared to the rest of the list, with the only exception being of the Finnish rifles.
In WW1 the United States went to war with a Target rifle, Germany went to war with a Hunting rifle, and the British went to war with a Battle rifle.Comment

I'd go with whichever you can find an abundance of GOOD ammo. I would tend to say garand because the ammo but go with which one YOU like the most.Comment

using my Rifles I would rate them for accuracy with reloads as follows: M41b, Winchester Mod 70 Unertl, Argy 1909 Nedinsco, MC-1 ( replica ), No4Mk1(t), K98 High Turrets ( replica ), 91/30 PE, M1D, 91/30 PU ...................... still need to build a Marine Corps 1903A1 w/ Unertl and find a Japanese Sniper.Last edited by Jarhead; 08-15-2010, 6:13 PM.Comment

sure they can, a Swede m96 is top notch, as well as a Fin m39. if your lucky, the prices can be very close to the k31 and sometimes even below if your not looking for a collector grade rifle. there are some other Fin models you can look into but as they get more rare, they tend to go up in price.Comment
