ATF charged me $30 :)

last Wednesday i sent in my forms.. checked today and ATF has charged me the $30... so hopefully by friday ill have my 03 FFL! and yes i know make many copies.. dont sign the original

Anytime you want Its a CA thing i dont think it has anything to do with the ATF (IE having an C&R to apply for it). I have a C&R but no COE simply because i dont see the point

You still have to pay DROS and the dealers who know and are willing to do it are few and far between. Turners wont even allow it for a multiple new gun purchases. So if almost no one recognizes the benefits of C&R and COE together what is the point? Even if you explain to them they will either not know or blindly say no your wrong etc.

Just as an FYI they charge you quickly for the 30$$, my came approx 4-5 weeks after they charged me.

I'd have to dig deep to find the exact time, but it was a couple of weeks for the COE.

Worked out for me because I dros'ed one pistol then sent in the paperwork while another was being shipped in from out of state. COE arrived before the 30 days was up so I had to whip it out right then and there.

Your credit card being charged or your check being cashed is the signal that they have received your application. Your application now gets put in the pile on the ATF employees desk. This next process can take anywhere from two weeks to 90 days.

Congrats. I didn't know there is no 10 day wait with the coe. How often do you have to renew?

C&R is a three year cycle. COE is an annual renewal. The cost drops down to something like $20 after the first big cost for the first year.

They cashed my check on 7-28-2010 and I just got my C&R today! About a two week turn around!

I was thinking about a COE, but it's pretty much pointless for me. So, I can buy more than one handgun a month, but I can't afford that anyways. And I can skip 10 wait on C&R's, but I order online.

The only time it will be worth it is if AB962 goes through, which I kind of doubt it will.

No. 10 day wait exemption for 03FFL/COE combo is ONLY for C&R firearms.
