Scoped M44 VS K31 which to get?

K31 hands down. St. Marie clamp on mount and some Good glass. Good to go.
The Bolt is among the easiest to take apart.
On any I have seen, the Bores are excellent for a Milsurp.

2 stage trigger that breaks cleanly.
It is a piece of fine cratsmanship.

If I keep wriitng about it for an hour and I can - I will buy it for $225.

It is not a milsurp smokepole.

K31 - probably most refined and precise machined military surplus rifle. The only rifles that can compare in accuracy with the K31 are the Swede Mausers, the Finnish m28/30, and the Finnish m39. Only disadvantage is more expensive ammo but a very small investment in a reloading press can bring the cost lower than the Mosin ammo.

Fixed that for you.

Although I will agree soviet mosins from the wartime years can be crudely made, Finn mosins are quite a different animal.

My vote is still for the K31 over the m44.

I am worried that by the time I am in the clear to get my hands on a K31, that there won't be any left.

Unfortunately, I can't get one just yet. I'll be sure to check WTB/WTB sub-forums when the time comes.

The K31 is a deal. The M44 is not.

didn't bother to read all the posts, but both. just buy both. the k-31 at that price is unbeatable. the m44 will save you a crapton of money on ammo when you run out of 7.5x55 so get both. k-31s are getting more and more expensive. mosins are slightly going up in price but are still CHEAP. if you don't get one now, you can get one in 2 years for 20 bucks more. get the Swiss first and then worry about Mosins, there's tons of them around but if you can, get both botH boTH bOTH BOTH!!!!!!!!
