Congrats on the MN! Next you need yourself an M44.

Congrats, nice MN. Be carefull don't get it wet or they will multiply!
I have an m38 that I love shooting. Wanted to get an 91/30 or an M91(bit harder to come by), last week, didn't happen though. Wound up with an entirely different gun, but a 91/30 is in my future. Those guns are cheap, reliable tanks and inexpensive to shoot.
      Safe and happy shooting!

don't sporterize it just because it shoots high. some mosin sights are zeroed with some archaic unit of measurement(parsecs or something) anyhow, there are tools available to adjust your front sight post, or just shoot it enough to learn where it hits. lord know ammo is cheap enough. i bought a 91/30 and an m44 the same day, then i bought a barreled action to build a sporter out of. it's in the stock but i haven't crowned the barrel, put the scope mount on, or got the bolt bent yet. should be a sweet shooter once it's done but don't butcher a nice-looking rifle when there's plenty of crappy ones out there waiting for it. don't get me wrong, i'm not the c&r gestapo like some of these guys, it's your rifle so do what you want with it, but they're so cheap you can afford to get a crappy one to mess with and leave the nice one alone. anyhow, enjoy your new purchase and try not to get bit by the mosin bug. it's like my wife, cruel and unforgiving, nevermind expensive...
