Nice deep annealing colors [normal], a lot of times you don't notice them because they are polished away by factorys

Right-handed rounds and left-handed rounds come to the factory in separate boxes. If the loader accidentally starts with a right-handed round he will end up with a left-handed round on top. If this is the case, simply take the right-handed round from the bottom and move it to the top. Problem solved.
Be warned: right-handed rounds eject to the left and left-handed rounds eject to the right.

I don't see how it would matter.

Now a bit off topic.... is it O.K. to shoot the above ammo (CMP HXP M2) at Angeles Shooting Ranges? I ask because I did a magnet test on mine and it did stick. I know its not AP but Ive herd that the range is picky about this?

The M1 feed mechanism is ambidextrous. This energy would be better spent working on trigger control, sight alignment, etc. Greek ball will shoot good on the John C Garand course of fire (all positions fired on the SR 200 target at 200 yds.).
                Shoot it.

It's not just armor piercing they are worried about. Steel jackets and or steel core bullets have the potential to spark and create a fire hazzard.

The e-clips can be loaded with the top round on the left or the right. The feed mechanism won't care which way that first round feeds from. Usually the top round is on the right... but if it's on the left? That's OK too!

The darker color at the neck and shoulder area is also normal.

I'm no HXP expert, but those look OK to me. If the slight damage to the e-clip affects loading/feeding, then I'd not use it.
