    M1 Garand spitting out clip

My Garand spits out the clip before all eight rounds are shot. This happens only once in a while. Is there anything ovious I should be looking for? Do I have lubed too much?

    Replace the clip latch spring.

I think that's the first thing on the trouble shooting list for that problem.
No, I don't think I'll ever get over Macho Grande.

if the clip and ammo is being ejected after only the first 2 or 3 rounds, then it is the clip latch spring.. if the clip is being spit out with 1 or 2 rounds left.. then it is the bullet guide and/or the spring as well as it might be the clip latch itself...

Great, I will look into that. It happened once every 5-6 enblocks. It once spat out a clip with 5 rounds, and today a clip with 2 rounds.

Still on the M1, who parkerizes them and how much would such service cost?

I had the same problem and replaced the bullet guide, clip latch and spring. No more problem.

Could it also be the specific clip you are using or does it happen with different clips?

I'm just learning about the Garand but haven't heard any mention of the service life of the clips.

I got the Greek ammo from CMP which comes in clips and bandoliers. I haven't shot a single clip twice up to this point.
