They may seem expensive but they continue to go up in value as the only made about 400,000, compared to Grands which they made millions.
No M3A1 Grease Gun? Come on, ya gotta keep up

400,000 BARs... I wonder how many OOW has made? Mine is one of the first 500 serial numbers and it looks like I have a Korean BAR barrel on mine.

I think OOW only made about 85 of the 1918 model BAR's. No more being made.
No M3A1 yet as I'm working on having a MP44 made up.

Isn't there a German company planning on selling both a .22LR and a 7.92 MP44 rifle? There is another company that makes an MP44 conversion kit for the PTR91, it isn't that good looking though. I saw a semi auto reweld of an original MP44 on GunBroker, pretty pricey though.

There is a company that makes a .22 model MP44 but I haven't heard when if ever they will get here.

The 7.92 model MP44 is out but I hear they may have to many issues to import any more.
My build will be from a kit I bought many years ago. Built to comply with both 922R rules and ATF rules.

But, the M14/M1A is not chambered in .30-06.

There's at least one of 7.92 MP44 in CA.
Freakshow did the mods to make it CA legal and he posted how due to parts quality & 922r issues, that the importer has ceased importation of them (costs to much $$$$ to make it work). Total cost was around $5000.

The .22LR MP44 is suppose to be around the $2000-2500 price range.

To really enjoy the BAR you have to go to the desert or private land. Slow fire at a bullseye target, bah.

I saw Adams post. Does anyone have a update on the .22 model?

                          We All Like 'Reproductions'

I think, if you want to be a purist, we all seem to like reproductions, including the semi-auto BAR. The M1A is a semi-auto reproduction of the M14.
The semi-auto Thompsons are popular. The semi-auto 1919a4 tripod mounted machine gun is very popular. And I believe the AR-15 is a commercial reproduction of the M16, correct? You gotta like 'em!

Yes, I know that, but it is otherwise an improved Garand, with selective fire in the military version. And it doesn't weigh 19 lbs. Or costs $3800.
                            Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

                              "All"? Um, no.

                              The M1A is a semi-auto reproduction of the M14.
Don't have one of those either.

That doesn't mean that everyone thinks they are worth the money. And the AR-15 is the civilian version of the M16, and if made by Colt is made by the same company.

Hey, as I said earlier, if you want to spend $3800 on a reproduction that is lacking the automatic part of Browning Automatic Rifle, that's fine. That doesn't mean we "all" want to spend our money that way. If it cost $380 it might be a fun toy, but for $3800, I'll pass.
