If you visit battlerifles.com or m14forums, he goes by the handle warbird. Seems like the ones he builds always run right and he has many satisfied customers.

Amen to that! BUTTTTTTTTT he dont come cheap and last I looked he's got a minimum of an 8 week wait for 'regular' Garand builds....no idea on what a conversion wait would be.But seriously, I was waiting to see what the poster says- yea or nay before mentioning peeps as he (seems) on doing it himself???????

PS...Battlerifles is Kaput for 2 years now- its now Amback-- but battlerifles link will redirect you Just might see some familiar faces over there!!!

How else can you fire from the hip without aiming or reloading?

You shouldn't have to worry about a pistol grip stock, as I got one of the last ones from RSI last fall. They should be out by now. I can't use it too well as it has more of a straight line stock, but my oldest son loves it.

I have a garand T26 kit with everything but the op-rod. I have a full size op-rod. I was gonna have West Texas Armory build it, but they got flakey and still owe me $200 of my deposit money back.

I want to assembly my T26 myself. Does anyone know a source of the receiver block tool for a vice and the barrel wrench (and whatever tools I would need) I'd love to be able rent/borrow the stuff and assemble it myself.

I know how to time and headspace them and I have the manuals and stuff, Im just not sure how short and where to cut/re-weld the op-rod to make it work right.

I have the 18" barrel already (a factory barrel from some company I found on Ebay) and I have the shorty handguard, altho I will probably not run one.

Anyone got the tools in SoCal? I will buy .30-06 headspace guages as they are handy to have. I just dont need to buy all the expensive assembly tools as I dont anticipate assembling another one for a long time, if ever.

I built mine with a CMP receiver and a Numrich Gun parts corp M1 tanker kit it runs Flawlessly, but I did have to trim the op rod spring shorter, that's OK as it's easy to cut coils off but hard to put them back on.... I'd say stick with 06 only cause they run better. It's a handy truck gun that packs a punch. I'd say do it. B2B
