    Enfield value?

Just a quick questions from the powers that be here on calguns, I bought a Lee Enfield MK 4 #2 w/ all matching numbers(including the knife bayonet), coating on metal is about 80% and the wood is lightly dinged in various places. Still shows alot of cosmoline around the reciever. Any thoughts?

Do you have any pics for reference. If you got it for any less than $125 than you did really good if it functions and the bore is good.

I paid more than that. But it does function very well and it was worth to me what i paid. i paid 200.00. I just bought it yesterday so no pics yet.

The total truth is I have been and am still in the market for a mk 4 #2 parts gun. I got the mk 4 #2 yesterday but dont want to use it for a build, too nice and i want to save it as a part of my collection.

yea, got a few hits with prices way too high for a parts gun. And I have all but exhausted my funds for toys since my last large purchase

                    this is about right.

onlyh the unissued irish contracts command the premium.

this is why C&R shooting is so much fun, a large number of the rifles are ~$200!

very true, 50% of my collection is C&R. I have four enfields, a yugo mauser converted to .243, although now not technically C&R. A very old Hercules III 16 ga. dbbl. shotgun, and few other things herer and there.

I love enfields, the .303 cartridge not so much, but the action makes a really solid build platform for all types of calibers.

One of my enfields is converted to .45ACP

                      Another converted to .50 AE

going to convert another to 7.62x39

Still want two more to convert to 45/70 LC and .223

Which is precisely why I am looking for parts guns

In Australia and new zealand alot of .303's were converted to .223 for target shooting but it's fairly involved. What does the conversion to 7.62x39 involve? Pleas let us know - the bullets are the same so do you shorten the barrel from teh chamber end?

ok, here it is. I used a kit ot convert to 7.62x39. I ordered a kit from a guy online. The kit included a pre-chambered barrel w/ savage barrel nut, modified bolt head, modified trigger guard to hold single stack WASR AK mags.
