CMP Garand - Start the Clock

All completed paperwork in the mail yesterday. I ordered 2 SA Service Grades, so let's see how long it takes!

I'm pretty excited and looking forward to getting these babies dropped off at my front door.

I'm hopeful that I will not drop too many thousands of dollars over the next 3 years of eligibility. I am, however, looking forward to getting some of that new Greek ammo rumored to be availbale sometime during the beginning of the year.

As for the weapons, I wlll update with pictures once I receive them.

    The clock is ticking!
Next to me in the blackness lay my oiled blue steel beauty. The greatest Christmas gift I had ever received, or would ever receive. Gradually, I drifted off to sleep, pringing ducks on the wing and getting off spectacular hip shots.

the greek stuff through CMP is pretty cheap compaired to what it goes for elsewhere.

Glad to see another CMP brother out there. Good grab too on the Garands.

Hello Jagguy - Was it a Service grade? If so, was it nice?

        31 days, nice!

          Congratulations!

The next thing to look for is your "DBU" (Don't Bug Us) email confirming receipt of your order.

We have received and verified your recent order. There is nothing that we will be able to tell you about the order until we have input all orders received ahead of yours into the system. Your order will now advance to our sales area and from there to our shipping area. Please note, that unless otherwise listed, our order to ship time is 30 days. You will receive other emails as the order progresses.

Your customer # is xxxxxx . Please use this customer # in any communications with us concerning the order as that is where all of your information is stored.

Thank you for your order and your support of our program

After you get your DBU email and customer number, go to the CMP estore to check your pending orders https://estore.odcmp.com/store/inquiry/orderList.aspx

Check there frequently and eventually you will see your order listed with a Ship Date of "TBD" (To Be Determined)

Keep checking your order and eventually you will see your credit card "hit" and a FedEx tracking number assigned. Check the FedEx site to see when your package will be delivered. An adult must be present to sign for the package, it won't just be left at your door. If no one is there to sign for it you will have to go to FedEx to pick it up.
          Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

That Greek M2 stuff is corrosive, correct?

ALL of the years of Greek M2 ball is NON-corrosive

according to a sign in the South Store, the Greek .30-06 attracts a magnet, if that matters.....and I also believe it is non-corrosive.

Greek HXP M2 Ball is non-corrosive, boxer primed and really good stuff...all my Garands love it!

It attracts a magnet...since there is some ferrous metals in the FMJ, there is no steel core. Unfortunately most ranges (if they check it) in Forest Serve land will not let you shoot it during fire season since the regs do not differentiate steel core ammo from copper with some ferrous metals in it to save cost jackets.

I ordered a service grade M1 Garand earlier this month. They acknowledged the order on 12/7 and I received shipping confirmation today 12/22. I was expecting February or thereabouts. Impressive.
