Spanish 1893, 95's have a round bolt face. Yours went thru the update and had the gas vent drilled in the side of the receiver. Have the headspace checked just to be safe.
Should be 7x57, chambers are loose and have a lot of freebore for the longer 175grn bullets. You may get lucky and have an accurate shooter with lighter bullets.

        SACRILEGE!
Wally World off the shelf 7mm Mauser ammo is all loaded to SAMMI spec pressures for the 1893. Norma ammo is hotter, Lapua is too hot. Stick with Rem, Fed, or Win ammo.
Before you shoot it, give the bore a good scrub, and take the bolt apart and get the hardened gunk out of the bolt body. Don't grease it, just give all the parts a good coat of CLP.

my vote is for yanking the barrel off and building a 308, with rails on every exposed surface, and the sporting version of the Hubble on top, and a carbon arc spotlight underneath.

          heh,heh,heh it's ALIVE Igor!

It's a 93, not a 98 so leave it in the original chambering. When the Spanish re-chambered their 93's to 308 they made special low power ammunition for them. IIRC it was only loaded to 45,000 CUP because the 93 couldn't handle a steady diet of modern ammunition.

How much ammo you need? I've got several hundred rounds on stripper clips and no longer own a 7x57.

That's the Proof Stamp for the Loewe plant, that one was made in Germany.

Tankerman, PM me with a price on that!

Ok so update..... I took it to the range, fired it... or lack thereof

I tried 3-4 times and it just goes click, no bang.

Anyone know a good guy to take this thing to? This isnt something i want to mess with, im still only 60% sure im even trying the correct ammo.

also, anyone know what this thing would be worth if it was functional? I can forsee a FS thread in my future.
