I have a Eddystone I got from CMP for $250. Very nice solid rifle and good shooter. I like the M1917 because it was most likely the rifle carries by Sgt. York during WWI.

FYI the "Eddystone" plant was owned by Remington.

So I've heard! Stuart Mowbray says it might be one of the most under-appreciated martial arms in American history. He said everyone seems smitten with the '03, but the 1917 actually saw more service during WWI.

Can't wait to get mine...it's scheduled to arrive on the 7th.

            Finally, here are the pics

As promised, here are shots from one of the M1917's AIM was selling a week or so ago.

This is how the rifle came out of the box...well, it was in one piece until I got a hold of it!!!

I was totally blown away by the bore...it is absolutely perfect...I wish I had a D-SLR so that I could focus on it better. To think that the barrel is 91 years-old and looks that good is amazing to me...

As for the rest, it's top-notch. All Remington marked parts, even under the buttplate. The action is smooth and tight. I can't wait to get it out to the gun club! I just got 2 cans of CMP Greek .30-06 last week so I'm set for some range time.

I'm posting 2 more sets of pics after this one due to the 6 image limit.

If you're going to post pics, at LEAST take a few of the rifle in its entirety.

No problem...sorry about the lighting, the stock is NOT black!

First you are chopping up historic vintage rifles and sticking them in cheap and nasty looking plastic "dildo" stocks that look like some kind of futuristic sex toy that gay space aliens stick up each other's butts.

Thanks...I've always had great service from AIM. Some are restored, some are arsenally refinished, some are "as found" but AIM always calls that out very clearly in their descriptions.
