    I've always wondered who did these tiger striped finishes on the soviet stocks. They are not very common. Highly desirable.

            this claim needs corroboration. an internet forum thread by one random guy is not enough.

            As sks research goes -- Loose-Cannon and running_man are anything but "random guys". Sks enthusiasts in the know, think of their work (and their forum) as the gold standard in sks information.
