Metal bits matched, forced on furniture, wrong bayo collet & no cleaning rod but has kit, doesn't look to be run much according to the seller. This guy (out of Texas) and the KSI Hunter recently acquired (out of Colorado) were the same price as each other and cheaper than a cheap Chinese today, 2012-2014 prices

The diversity of the platform has always appealed to me. The Paratrooper length is what configuration they should have been milspec built to. Neutered commercial sport jobs in modern furniture handle and shoot very well. Next to the 10/22 the SKS was the bestest tinker toy set up, IMHO. PAX

I have a few Russian SKS's, that I picked up several years ago when the average prices were in the $400-$450 range. I have a refurb 1951 which I believe hasn't been fired since it left the refurb facility. All serial numbers on it match with no force matching.
I have a 1953 Ishvek that has been, shall we say, well used that I primarily use as my shooter.
By far, my favorite Russian SKS is this '54 light refurb (meaning that only the stock has been replaced) that I bought many years ago.

Good looking batch of Commie iron h. This is my 3rd Russian, I have a '54 Tula as issued and a '54 Izzy refurb in laminate (Irkutsk-DDR?), and an Israeli capture in Chinese laminate. I put a blank Russian laminate stock on one of my Romys that was really rough. The Timbersmiths are a fine piece of wood but boat anchor heavy. PAX

Mine was actually my first SKS, $70 bucks, single shot with a froze gas piston. At the time, late '90's, there was (is) still a shadow over a lot of SKS history, and the "capture" rifles were virtually unknown. Mine hasn't been run much if at all.
