Sent it off to get refinished yesterday. I was told there is a 2-3 week turnaround, so I should have it back before the end of July.

I've got a very similar project planned for a sportered 03A4 that I glommed years ago. It is in very similar condition to your sporter.

I've been acquiring parts for it, but like you, I've been unable to source a proper dated barrel.

I did find an actual A4 stock, but it is a replacement scant, so one of the late 43 early 44 barrels that I have may be fine.

Fedex tracking showed that it was received yesterday so I am officially in the queue for refinishing.

I got a call from Chuck yesterday afternoon and he said he'll likely have it done and shipped by Friday, Monday at the latest. All goes well, I'll have it together and pictures up by next weekend.
