    Ruger Single-Six score this weekend

Wandered into a LGS Friday, and saw a C&R Single-Six in the consignment case. Consignee accepted an offer of $250, so I took it home. At the local gun show Saturday, I picked up a complete holster rig for $20. NOTE: the gun only came with the .22LR cylinder. The .22Mag cylinder I had picked up on a "junk" table for $20 a while back, and it fits perfectly.

So, for less than $300 all-in, take a look:

1962, I believe. The grip frame is an XR3, and they switched in 1963 according to online sources.

I've got a single six convertible I bought some time ago. It's still my favorite overall handgun I own. Great score op!

Very nice! I'm shocked you got all that for so little!

Me, too. Sometimes you're in the right place at the right time, and the stars align.

To be fair - the gun showed poorly because it was crusted with dirt, carbon, dried grease, and other crap, and the holster rig was dry and stiff as a board. A bit of detailed disassembly and cleaning along with a liberal application of elbow grease made the gun come to life, and a liberal application of Leather Honey restored the leather and gave it a nice rich color.

Nice, had a Bird's head one that I let go a few years back. Think I let it go too cheap now. On top of that I inherited a bunch of 22 Maxi Mag

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Nice, and I'm really impressed you found one, that was already assembled.

                          Nice pickup, OP.
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
                          Come on...what harm??

That wasn't a score... it was a steal. And a good one, too! Congratulations on that find.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
