Only a very few first production Soviet SKS carbines had spring loaded firing pins. It was found to be unnecessary, and the springs could get fouled or break causing the pin to stick and cause a slam fire.Last edited by SVT-40; 05-31-2022, 1:27 PM.Poke'm with a stick!

You should include in your for sale post that the stock isn't original and has been renumbered to match the numbers on the carbine.Poke'm with a stick!

The first Soviet SKS carbines made in 1949 had spring loaded firing pins. The feature was deleted during early to mid 1950 production.
Chrome lined barrels were also introduced in mid 1950 production.Poke'm with a stick!
