Crazy! That's more than 3x what I paid the CMP for my very cherry Service Grade HRA Garand ~12 to 15 years ago...

I don't see how an average carbine could go for more than a similarly average Garand.

A Garand is more rifle, more caliber, more beautiful, more... everything.

Chances are that if it is "original" it was force matched to be that way.

The M1 carbine market along with M1 Garand have just gone bonkers. Typical mixmaster M1 carbine goes for $1150 - $1250 now with an import mark. Slightly more without the import mark. Correct or odd ball rifles like line-outs or subcontractor receivers command a premium.

Carbines have kinda always been more than Garands..They are just way more cool, fun to own, and shoot..

Some of the huge price increase is due to supply/demand..Some of it just simply because of inflation..

How many of you would pay 7 or 8000.00 for a rare IP Carbine..Not many I do not suppose.. Winchester has the name, not so much being rare that drives their prices up, I think they made the second largest amount next to Inland...Its the name on it only..They are no better or worse than any other makers Carbine..

Just like Rok-Olas for example..Its the name on it..

Hmmmm, switched out parts over the years to make all matching.

Rock-Ola is just fun to say. That's worth a little extra.
