Hmmmmmm. I bought a CMP Special grade about 5 years ago in .308. I absolutely love the rifle. Thinking about the expert grade in .30-06. I had a Winchester Featherlite in .30-06 and it hurt like hell. (Old football injuries). I am thinking a heavier gun with a gas operated cushion might not be so bad. What do the expert grades look like now? Is there significant pitting?

Picked mine up today. I am happy. now to figure out the history on it. kind of want to order some more.
