If true, this is good to hear.

I emailed them this week to see if there was an option for me to upgrade to a service grade. No dice.

I will post pictures when I get it back earliest pick up is the 21 but I wont get my hands on it until the 25. I purchased some upgrades and accessories and pulled out my ww2 Remington marine lend lease British sling to compliment the rifle.
so far I ordered some clips, single shock adapter, hollow gas plug, and a milled trigger guard to replace the none loop stamped version. Luckily time tends to fly at work.

Finally received the confirmation email that they received my order. Now the extra long wait of actually having the rifles shipped. How long are we looking at on having rifles shipped after the order was received? Seems like another 6 months

              Rifle shipped

              Feb 29
FFL that I had done business with for 5 years surrendered his license and rejected the rifle when it arrived. Told me to pound sand over the phone and to do paperwork else where ( 2 months prior I bought 2 rifles and he told me he would wait for my gun)

called Fedx and they refused to send to new FFL

              Feb 30
contacted CMP and they recalled the rifle from Fedx

              March 3
              rifle returned to CMP
got in contact with a sales associate she gave me all the insider info and said the rifle was legally mine and no longer CMP stock. She told me to contact a new FFL

I contacted a new FFL near my work. Told me they were waiting on their renewal license from Ca. asked me if I could wait.

              March 5
called them back and they said to find another FFL due to Ca and ATF paperwork issues.

called Rifle Gear and CMP shipped the same day

              March 11
Rifle returned and I started the dros

nearly cried when I saw that CMP honored my request for a Sa ww2 receiver as a bonus they gave me a new 1950 barrel and CMP stock .

Just got off the phone with CMP.

Ordered 2 Field Grade in July.
                Oder acknowledged in December.
Contacted about upgrade to Service Grade March 8.
Told the order was being pulled March 9.

Then........... nothing. So, yesterday I sent an email to touch base. Turns out they had left me a VM on the phone# I had on the order form, since changed to a new number. D'oh! My credit card number had been compromised last August in Seattle when my car was broken into, and they needed a new number before shipping. We fixed that this morning, and the rifles will be on the way shortly.

My fault all the way around, but in my defense I had sent an email about the CC# changing to them several times, and they always told me "don't worry, they'll contact you when the rifles are ready to ship". Also, RE: the phone number..... I had gone to the CMP eStore and changed the number in my profile, but it seems that doesn't propagate to the folks that move the rifles.

PSA: If you change your address or phone number, call them directly and let them know.

That's s lot of mileage, even for the rifle itself, but sounds like it was worth the extra legwork.

Sounds like you got something quite decent. Post pics when you pick it up!

Sounds like the Expert grade price went up in the last couple days. Dangitt. I was thinking about buying a 30-06, but that may keep me from doing it. Even though it's worth it.

They went from 1000 to 1100

People are in a panic and think that the CMP is out of guns. While they do have guns they don't enough enough to fill the orders for people who want them by the create which is why they stopped taking orders and are telling people they are out. After they filter and cancel orders they are going to put more service grades together and limit the amount of purchases per year.

I was in my local gun store this past Tuesday when the FedEx guy came in with a "rifle shaped box." It's a small store with just one guy working. When he opened the box he gasped.
I walked over and he was looking at a CMP Garand, from CMP, an M1D with a scope mounted. It included the target that they used to zero the scope with three holes all touching the "X". (100 yards)
It had a CMP stock with a reproduction cheek pad/riser.
I had to step back to avoid drooling on it.
Invoice said a little over $3000. I'm assuming an auction win.
