WoW !! You did good for that price. 100 people looked and handled that thing b4 you saw it and said Naww looks cheap and beat up and used. Think ill spend 500 more on this AR

Nice pics. Its not close enough to Christmas to call it your present to yourself.

I was at Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday with my wife, she wanted to look at some hiking boots...

I casually walked by the rifle area, and saw two SKS'S in the rack. I was proud of myself, as I didn't succumb to the strong urge to even ask the clerk to look at them...

      Yes, it's an addition...

I bought one a couple of months ago before they stocked them at stores. I figured that if it looked bad or had a bunch of mismatched numbers I wouldn't dros it. Showed up with all matchings numbers and everything was in good shape.

Well.....I bought one. All visible numbers match except the handguard/gas tube which is not numbered.
Stock in decent shape with typical dings. Most bluing still there, looks to be in great shape, just needs a few hours of cosmo removal.
All spike bayos BTW. Today is the last day of $399. They are marked $499.

They would not accept my C& R license ! Even though I now live in Wyoming. At least you don't have to pay the $25 "gun tax" for a background check like Nevada. ( Except for a Nevada concealed carry permit)
They gave me a $20 discount for prior law enforcement, and I signed up for their credit card and got an additional $50 off. Had $23 in points, so with all that it was $326 OTD.
Sportsmans Warehouse doesn't honor a C&R FFL? Is that a corporate thing?
I haven't tried here in New Mexico.

Guess I can't have them ship a SKS to me, actually only one person in 4 years wanted to ship a C&R to a 01 FFL all else shipped C&R directly to me.

My local FFL charges $15 for any transfer, no tax, C&Rs if I have to have it shipped to them are just handed across the counter after the $15, no 4473 or NICS after I give them another copy of my C&R FFL.

Haven't tried Cabelas here or Sportsmans, the "local" FFLs seem more than willing to accept the C&R FFL
There is one store Ron Petersen's that probably has the largest selection of new, used, C&R, and Antiques in New Mexico. Bought a Rossi M62 there had to do the 4473 pay sales tax and was NICS'd and out the door in 25 minutes from the time I hit the counter!
My local shop used keep all my 4473 info on file in the computer so was quick and easy, now ATRF no longer allows that you have to complete the line item by line item each time you by a firearm. Still get out the door in 45mins of less depending on how fast I type and the NICS is running.
New guns I shop online and have sent to my local shop fer the $15 fee. They never bitch about not "shopping" local.

In the very first pic from op the triangular stamp on the stock almost looks like the Cugir factory stamp. Ive never seen that stamp on a Chinese but I dont pay that much attention. Pretty cool nontheless. I don't think those SkS would last a day at 399.00 in Ca SW. I think J&G was selling Cracked stocks non returnable for that much a few weeks ago.

The Chinese used a number of proof marks on their stocks. Below is a composite of some of the proofs on my Chinese Type 56 carbines. They are usually located mid stock, near the recoil lug bolt.

Nice!. Did you take the gas tube off the carbine? Often the numbers are lightly etched on the bottom of the tube and can't be easily seen while its on the gun.

                    Some are not etched.

Please post some pics here when you get it.

                    What year was it made?

LOL I got it about 5 min after picking it out. I am not in CA, remember? Haha

Anyhow.....I did pull the gas tube and saw no numbers. Could have been under the cosmoline.

Broke down and bought one. 20% off and used my explorer rewards gift card points turned into gift card.

321.93 before transfer fees for me. I don't think it can get cheaper than this.

I overspoiled myself this holiday. Heavy cut backs after this lol

it's still a bargain compared to a Ruger Mini-14 or Mini-30 , much better quality
