    C&R Firearm Report Online

Well it is Time for my first report of C&R.
There is a form 4100A downloadable and there is online form on cfars website... Are they the same??
If they are... How the fees of $19 works? I only see place for ONE Firearm.

    Appreciate all responses.

It's the same form online or offline. From what I remember, in addition to submitting the form online, you will need to attach a copy of your driver's license as an attachment otherwise they'll kick it back.

I just did one, you fill it out and then put it in your cart. I would assume you can do more before you check out and pay the $19, but I only had one. It seemed easy enough if you start clicking and filling it out.

Yes, that is how it works. Keep stuffing forms into the cart, then checkout for a single $19 fee

Say you have an in-state C&R transmittal, can you leave it in the cart up to 30 days before checkout? This way you have 30 days to submit as much as you can for $19? Will CFARS let you do that?

              I'm guessing that you could.

But, why not just set a reminder to do it on day 30? Then you can gather up all your purchases for the last 30 days and enter them all at one time.
              Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

                Morrcarr67,

What you suggest is an excellent idea....that way in case for some reason your carts gets "emptied" for some reason by the online system for leaving it in there too long, you do not have to start all over again reentering all that information.

It will also lessen the chances that your CFARS session "times out" and "forgets" everything you just inputted into the form.

AFAIK... they want the front and the back of the DL/ID.

                    ID Type
                    • If using a Military ID Number as the ID type and it is 9 digits in length, select "MILITARY ID CARD" for the ID Type
                    • If using a Military ID Number as the ID type and it is 10 digits in length, select "DEPT OF DEFENSE ID" for the ID Type
                    • If using a California driver license or identification card as your ID type, you must upload a copy of your California driver license or identification card by clicking on "Add Document" in the file upload section of the form and selecting "Optional Extra Images".

                      Quiet,

Thanks for mentioning it about the back of the ID as well. I've never had an issue when I've had to upload a copy of my real ID driver's license with them wanting the back but in the future, I might upload that as well just in case that way I don't get a delay because they wanted to see that as well. From what you shown it doesn't seem like they mentioned they need to see a copy of the back but it makes sense that for whatever reason they do. And even though on the back it might not have any information we think is pertinent they obviously do for whatever reason. I look at it as it's not that much of a hassle to do and if it will make your application go through or processed quicker it's just easier to go ahead and do it. I learned earlier this year that even though I had uploaded a copy of my real ID driver's license to my profile they still wanted it on my application. I thought to myself they already have it in my profile why do I need to put it again in my application? Then I realize they never might not be able to see it or pull it off my profile when they process my COE renewal and have to have it with the application. Whether the reason is this or some other reason, I just knew that until I uploaded it with my application that it wouldn't get processed and if I waited too long it would get rejected and I would have to start all over again. Even though I thought and some people might think it's redundant and why can't they at the CA DOJ and and the CFARS application system see that I've already uploaded in my user profile a copy of my real ID driver's license. But rather than question or wonder why or contact them and ask oh, it's just easier to give them the information that they want since it's not too difficult to do so. I have found over the past few years of renewing my COE that if I just give them the information they need after my application was not finished processing such as an updated copy of my real ID driver's license or my FFL number, that my application was processed and approved very very quickly. In a perfect world we would just pay our renewal or intial application fee, then answer a few questions, check a few boxes digitally sign the application, and it would get processed within a reasonable amount of time. However in the real world obviously this isn't the case for some of us or many of us, and we've had to deal with delays and issues with our COE application or renewal or other related matters. I know some people on here have commented to tell them to go pound sand or it's none of their business or they don't have a right to know but I've learned after dealing with the state for many years that it's easier just to work with them when it comes to information they require which is reasonable versus try to fight with them over it. This is because generally speaking they decide whether you get approved or not and trying to fight them legally on it it's not worth doing over something like this such as requiring a copy of your real ID driver's license or ID card and or your FFL number.

To all sorry if this post seems long and winded. Just wanted to share some personal experience I've had with dealing with the CA DOJ other state government law enforcement/tax agencies over the past 20 years on the phone, email, or in person.

Turns out somewhere on the way from my valet to the scanner my DL switched places with my old one, feel so "smart". Can anyone confirm or denied front only or front AND back of REAL ID for online application. For registering SKS DOJ asks me for more then a few pictures.

I have a PDF file with my non-real CDL, my CCW, my 03 C&R FFL and my COE. It only has the front of the CDL and CCW and I've never been asked for the back of them.

Huh, I just looked at my CFARS stuff and a C&R acquisition from back in late 2019 still shows as "in process".
