I have been shooting and cleaning my revolvers with water and not removing the nipples for about thirty years. None of the nipples are stuck or damaged from rust. But what would I know.....

That being said, it seems like it would be weird for one of the chambers to no longer thread a nipple unless either the nipple was damaged or the threads in the chamber end were dirty/rusted/damaged. Either way, a tap and die ought to fix the problem IMO.

Hell if I know, I do computer stuff; mechanical stuff is just a hobby I do poorly.
followed this advice, worked like a charm...rethreaded and nipple fits flush...

        Glad it worked out!

As an aside: There was some discussion as to whether or not you need to pull the nipples when you're cleaning your gun after shooting. While I won't as you have to do one or the other; I will say that I was watching Forgotten Weapons and they had some old Colts on there. One had the original box, under the lid of which was the original instruction sheet to come with the revolver. It said to disassemble the gun, pull the nipples, and clean. Afterward for further cleaning you can disassemble the whole thing.

I use pipe cleaners. Cheap and easy. I do take my nipples out and clean them every time i shoot. It may be overkill but they are stainless and it just looks nicer when they are cleaned
