    Beretta 1951?

Found a store that sells this. Figured to post it here due to its age.

Do you guys know anything about it? Popularity?

    Early or Late model?

Early were aluminum frame and not worth having "they busted". IIRC, mid 1950s they switched to steel frames.

      AFAIK...

Beretta Model 1951 was in production from 1950-1980.
^The 2nd gen (steel frame) began production in 1955.

Unless, there is documented evidence as to when it was made, they are not considered C&R due to production going to 1980 and Beretta typically not wanting to provide production data/years on it.

Popular during the 1950s-1970s, with several European and Middle Eastern Gov/Mil/LE agencies adopting it.

Egypt and Iraq made their own version of it.

I think the 2nd gen (steel frame) is a well made 9x19mm single-stack pistol and a good buy for under $400.

I believe a few months ago, Atlantic Firearms got a batch of C&R Beretta Model 1951 (Italian Navy surplus) and were selling them from $280-350 depending on condition.
They sold out in less than 48 hours.

Here's a Beretta 1951 fun fact - there was a popular suction dart toy pistol back in the 70's that was molded to look like the Beretta 1951.

I have been kicking around the idea of buying one and cerakoting it day-glo orange just for lulz - not sure if making it look more like a toy and less like a pistol would be copacetic with DOJ...

          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Local store selling it for $330. Trying to see if it's even worthwhile. Cheap 9mm.

That's a fair price, I'd buy it for that.

Classic has them in stock, don't think C&R though but good for price reference
The Beretta M1951 is a 9x19mm ( 9 mm Parabellum / Luger ) semi-automatic pistol, developed during the late 1940s and early 1950s by Pietro Beretta S.p.A. of Italy. The pistol was produced strictly for military use and was introduced into service with the Italian Armed Forces and security forces as the Modello 1951 (M1951), replacing the Modello 1934 pistol. All come complete with a 1-8 round magazine. May not come with original Beretta OEM Mag but each will have a magazine and the vast majority will be OEM. Note - We are playing it very safe by calling these NRA Surplus Good as all will live up to that grading but many will far exceed a grading of Surplus Good. This is a nice lot of guns.

Just won one at auction of Gunbroker for $285 and $15 shipping! It was manufactured in 1957, so definitely C&R status and in very nice condition overall for its age and being a police surplus gun. The gunshop is Robertson's Trading Post in Tennessee, they have a few still left on auction and lots of Buy It Now ones for $339. So if you guys are thinking of getting one, check them out. Cant wait to pick it up next weekend and go to the range!
