hate to tell you but the CADOJ asked me for a COE on a C&R lever action bought in nevada and brought back by me. Now i have to go get a COE just to get the gun registered. Also they cash your check, tell you two weeks later after cashing you check that you have 30 days to comply with their time frames and if you don't they will not refund the money. They tell you that after the fact. The north end does not know what the south end is doing and it appears the south end is running things.

When they notified you of the need for the COE, did they reference the applicable code? If so, what details did they give you?

The COE requirement for an out of state purchase brought back sounds like an error of some kind by the reviewing party at Cal DOJ, unless they are making sheise up as they go. I wouldn't put it past them, though.

I attended the prior New Frontier show in July (?). Much better than the (dying) Big Reno show. If I had to pick one, I'd do New Frontier. More vendors, better items and a better mix of stuff in general. The last Big Reno show was just sad.

Hmmm...I might be able to switch my plans around and make it, but I'll have to see. How do those smaller shows fare for C&R? Everyone I've talked to in NorCal just froths over the Big Reno show.

I have seen vintage rifles and handguns (Walther, 1911s, Wheel guns). But you can decide only if you go. I would certainly look into the two shows this week. If your can make only one make it Modesto. Any Show, Pawn, or Gun Shop/Range in Reno will make you froth. I can spend a half a day just in the small Reno shops. Suggest you also try some of the Gun Shops in Reno and Las Vegas.

You can rub up against them.

Not to mention that there are plenty of parts and accessories that you can purchase.

You do not need COE to bring back C&R guns with your 03 FFL. Tell DOJ to pound sand.
