    ??? about Savage

I know that Savage has offered scopes on their .22's for some time. Does anyone know if they ever had a scope that was labeled "Savage"?
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Yes, Savage sold several fixed power scopes that were made in Japan back in the 1960s and '70s. They made a 3/4" .22 scope (I think that is the one Tom-ADC shows) and 1" 2.5 and 4X scopes that are very much like the early Weaver "K" scopes. The one I had (2.5X) was marked "Kowa" and I was told that when Weaver stopped making scopes in Texas and started importing Japanese-made scopes under the Weaver name, Kowa was their actual manufacturer.

Now that happened MUCH later than these Savage-imported scopes, so I'm not sure that it is really true. It may just be someone connecting dots that are actually too far apart in years to really be connected....

Nick Stroebels' book on rifle sights and scopes would probably tell you more, but I "loaned" mine and never saw it again!
