Want to get my C&R license, how to get? Is it worth it?

So i currently work for a gun range/retail shop and already have my COE, i dont hold any FFL licenses currently but i am interested in getting my C&R license.

I had a gentleman come in and tell me that you can get ammo to your house with a C&R as well, is that still true? I have a few older firearms in mind that i also would like to acquire.

Can anyone who has one currently in CA give me a run down in PMs as to what to expect, what i can or cant do etc?

Do a search for the many threads regarding this. It is worth it if you want ammo shipped direct to you, hopefully without any local ordinances which prevent. You also need your COE. And do it electronically. You will need to keep up when to renew your COE and FFL.

Im wondering though with CAs unique stupidity laws, will that pose any issues?

In what way? Just get the 03 FFL, and you have to abide by the record-keeping requirements for the duration of your license for anything you acquired or disposed of under your license, but other than that there's nothing really more onerous aside from the very slight chance you may be asked for an ATF audit, but that will be given with advance notice and in writing.

Anyone know if the new ammo laws about to kick in on 07/01/19 will affect this at all?

It will effect those without a C&R and COE.

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
