So, should we have a competition as to who brings out the most ridiculous magazine or ammunition feeding device inh on or of last week's Benitez Bonanza?

Anybody go out to West End this weekend. How is the creek? As of Friday cars will still getting stuck. I have a 2wd SUV and I might go this afternoon. Will I get stuck?

Drove across it today, very loose cobble and river rock. Stopped halfway across for the kid's amusement, was not able to start again in 2wd. Put it in 4wd and drove right out.

Water was about a foot deep.

Did not see any cars cross, only pickups and my 4Runner.

Would not try in a car. Would not stop in middle unless 4wd. Had I just continued forward, 2wd would have been fine.

Thanks for the info I think I will wait until next weekend and go earlier in the day in case I get stuck. I would hate to get stuck in the late afternoon and not have anyone around.

Shoot is this weekend. Range recommends vehicles with high clearances at this time to cross the creek. Perhaps those of us with trucks could help pick up folks without high-clearance vehicles before the creek if they have room?

What are people planning on bringing?

              Does this range allow steel?

                    I have a couple of 21st Century-manufacture Mauser-style-action bolt rifles, some 1911s, some Marlin 1894s and some single-action whirlenpoppers.

Are these C&R if the above firearms/designs are of recent manufacture?

Thanks in advance. Oh, and if! these firearms would fit the program, then, what time is the earliest we can roll in as a guest?

This is a last-minute deal, and I'm 50-50 on being able to attend. I have put in for a clearance from the ol' battle axe...

Sorry, I am asking only for the sake of the shoot.

I realize that newer firearms aren't C&R eligible through an FFL...

                      EDIT:

                      Oh, Oscar November Mike!

I am reminded by the ol' ball-and-chain: Chinese F1 Grand Prix viewing party 12PM-3PM, then once again home, a birthday party for our across-the-street neighbors' 2-year-old son.

Maybe next time! and perhaps by then I may a real C&R firearm (other than a 1935 Remington .22LR)

The range opens at 8:00am, usually a bunch of us are there at this time. So to answer your question, 8:01 would be the earliest you could show up as a guest. Just mention you're there for the C&R shoot, we're usually at the benches at the farther end.

While we call it a C&R shoot, you do not need to have a C&R to participate. A mauser-style-action would be fine for the shoot and our little friendly competition. We want this to be fun! We'll also have plenty of extra C&R rifles between us to lend you one for the friendly competition, if you'd like, a mosin, mauser, enfield, arisaka, etc.

                        Hope to see you there!

                          Thank you, Jimja!

My dance card is full, but, believe me! I'd rather be shooting!

The next one will be on Sunday, May 12th. It's usually always the second Sunday of the month, try to make it then. We'll have a new post up here on the forum sometime early next month
