    There were over 17 million made, at least half have survived, so I think it's safe to say the shortage is artificial, just like everything else in this market.

        All the local Big 5 has is a Yugo Mauser that looks to have been used as an anchor.. & they said "no more Mosins"

          there is a rumored sad tale about the last shipment, the Ukranians demanded double the price, so the importer walked. They came to terms, but it takes months for these things to get shipped and pass import etc.
          Is this pure speculation and rumor? Can't tell for sure, but if you believe some of the people in the know, it is true.


          I am of the opinion that they will be once again plentiful and available.

            Wow, never thought my beat up Mosin would be worth anything more than I paid for it. I'm even contemplating trading back on the bun buyback program and doubling my money. It's a very fun gun to shoot though
