Although there were MilSurp firearms that I would like to have,I didn't have a list...just caught the MilSurp Curio and Relic bug...buy one and then another and another...when I found them.

I too had a list I started working years ago (when it was a lot easier to fulfill). I wanted to own one example of every modern (smokeless) rifle produced at Springfield Armory. Not every variant, just one clean example of each.
          1873 T/D
          1898 Krag
          1903
          1917
          1903A3 (ok ,I know..ended up with a Smith Corona)
          M1
          and M14
Well I was able to complete the set in around 1999 with the exception that I had to settle with an M1A as an M14 was unattainable.
I eventually sold some off, but still own the T/D, M1 & M1A.

As a Glock and AR operator, I don’t really get the “milsurp“ stuff. Big heavy wood and steel guns, heavy recoil, expensive ammo, loud, dirty...Yeah, No. Not feelin it. Sorry.

OK OK..... I admit those funky Swiss rifles and commie Simonov rifles are pretty decent.

I'll be happy to help you clean out your closet of all that unwanted old oily wood & cosmo'ed metal stuff.

Mosins, mosins, mosins, and more mosins!

On my huge list of stuff to get, there are least 20 mosins, among a variety of other things

On the other hand, some of the coolest c&r's I have are things I wasn't looking for, in some cases they are things I've never seen in person before or didn't even know existed!

So in a way lists can be overrated, sometimes you just randomly come across something and have to get it

@Jimja, This was the case for me with the Finnish M39. I wasn't aware of it until I saw a video from iraqveteran8888. I found its history quite fascinating. One random day, I decided to do a quick search on the Calgun forums. Lo and behold, someone was selling one for $500. It's an all-matching excellent condition 1942 VKT with a Russian Imperial Eagle on it. The receiver was made in 1914. The only gripe I have about it is the fact it's on a post-war stock. Granted, it's very beautiful.

I've got a 98 krag if it doesn't sell at the gun show this weekend. Sporterized though.
