Same here, that's what prompts the question. If it's a matter of choosing one then I suppose for the next few years I'd have to stay with CA. I buy local alot more than on line.

OK, I misunderstood your original post meaning you wanted to change the address on your existing FFL3. As far as buying locally vs. on-line, the local pickin's might be slimmer in Oregon than in Ca., but I bet the prices are more reasonable. One thing to consider. Your can have an out-of-state C&R sent directly to the Oregon address. No need to run it thru an FFL1 DROS.... It's California that's blocking the direct shipment.

Get a second license.

Remember there are storage requirements. Keeping firearms in a state or address other than what is licensed isn't permitted.

What would be on one license would be required to be kept there, unless you transfer it to your other licensed location. Such a transfer would need to be recorded in each book as a disposition and acquisition.

You would also have to comply with all CA laws. so if you brought a firearm which had been reported to CADOJ as being in CA to your Oregon location you would need to list it your Oregon book.

Since the firearm would be federally transferred to your Oregon FFL license, if you were to return it to CA you would need to re-report it to CA DOJ and pay the fee, just like it had never been in CA.

Thank you - that's what I was looking for and what I'd like to accomplish. I guess I can spring for the additional $30.00 for 3 years. And the caveats regarding logging, segregating CA and OR purchases, etc is well taken. BTW, I've looked and can't find it - is there a link to order the C&R application on line?
