This was made in 1966 so it should qualify as C&R
It is a rather rare Universal Carbine I picked up over on the AR15 Forum about two months back. Rare, as it is Chambered in .256 Winchester. Got it for a very good price. Came with scope mount, 2 full boxes of Factory ammo. 50 reloads, 150 resized 357 brass. And dies.
I know some frown on Universals. Especially the late ones. But this is pretty early, well built. Has a GI IBM slide.
I have been around a long time. Only one I have ever seen in person. One sold on GB though recently for near 900.00 with no additional accessories. So they must be hard to find.
Only four Firearms were ever made to chamber the 256W round. This one, Ruger Hawkeye, TC made a barrel, And the Marlin 62 Levermatic. Which I have but my 62 is ironically chambered in .30 Carbine.
It is actually more fun to shoot than my GI Carbines.
