    Current Mosin Interest Here?

    Hello,

I used to be a paid advertiser here. It was good. Lots of folks bought lots of my products.

When business from CA tapered off a bit, I moved advertising funds to other boards.

I'm currently reevaluating my advertising budget for 2017-2018, and am interested in knowing if

    1. Do you currently have an active interest in the Mosin-Nagant?

    2. Are you interested in non-permanent, quality modification parts? While I have one item that does require permanent modification to the stock -- a stainless steel pillar bedding set -- most of my mods are completely reversible.

I'm asking straight-up because I don't use advanced data gathering or anything. It just seems more honest to ask if there's interest prior to dropping my coin.

I did enjoy my time here as an advertiser, and will gladly do so again if there's still a segment here that will justify the expenditure.

    Regards,

    Josh

      Thank you, Capt.

Most of what I do actually revolves around Finnish methods being applied to Russian guns.

Those Finns were geniuses at simple solutions. I asked myself, "What might Finnish methods have evolved into given a peacetime setting and more resources?"

I think I have at at least a partial answer. Evolving Finnish methods to their logical conclusions seems to work very well.

      Regards,

      Josh

I'd be interested in the less common variations models, I'd like to have a Remington 1891 eventually. The 91/30 is still a cheap entry rifle, but if you're collecting Mosins, you're looking for the rare ones. Not interested in mods, non permanent or otherwise. Though these rarer Mosins are no where near the top of my to buy list, though the price is a huge factor if I'd get it now or later

Personally, I do indeed have an interest in Mosin-Nagants. I currently have two of them and am in the market for more if reasonably priced. I am not, however, interested in mods to them, even if they are non-permanent. Thanks for your inquiry.

I think this is the wrong board for asking about mods to rifle, most of us like our C&Rs in as close to factory condition as possible. Maybe manually operated center-fire forum will give you the right kind of answers.

Not interested in any mods really whatsoever. I'm only interested in rarer Mosins these days but I prefer finding bargains from gun shops and shows from clueless sellers .

I like the honesty of the question OP /Josh,
I'd much prefer that over someone buying my Internet data to see whether I'd like a product.

Well by some of the answers so far, there definitely seems to be a purist / "no modifications" slant when it comes to Mosins.

Hang in there though, they're probably all old folks and in a few years will be passing their rifles on down to their kids and grandkids. ...

And those kids are going to Mod the sheeeeeet out of them.

...folding stocks, extended magazines, $10 bi-pods, scope mounts...Cerakote Mosins in bronze and tans.... the works.

                      Anyhow,
Could you give us a little more detail on the mods you are looking to advertise about ?

I know you don't want to make this a free advertising thread but just give us a more specific idea of your products.

                        Hello,

They are adjustable sights since Mosins tend to shoot high without the bayonets attached; shim bedding kits, modified Finnish-style; M28-style trigger springs; two-stage trigger groups in limited quantities; rimlock-curing magazine and bedding kits, good stripper clips, and a few other goodies.

I do not carry bent bolt handles, scopes or mounts, or anything like that.

My goal is to allow regular, non-gunsmith owners to repair their Mosins to run as intended, with no rimlock, easy charging from clips, 2.5moa or better precision, and generally improve shootability.

The idea is to keep the indestructible nature of these rifles intact while making them at least as useful as modern bolt-action utility rifles. Scopes and other optics become weak links when added to these rifles.

                        My website is http://smith-sights.com .

                        Regards,

I thought I was always the guy squeeking because I was the most cheap. Then I met a few Mosin Nagant persons.

These gives pinch a nickel pretty hard, don't know if I try to part any of them with their money.

Seller is good to go. Bought some Mosin parts from him years ago, great experience, he even sent me a couple extra parts for free! Would buy from him again.
