No potential ID's because your photos are terrible. Give the board something to work with and someone will ID it for sure.

I thought I might have had enough to get close but after googling around it is not as easy as "geez, it is a Glock!"

It's not a flintlock, it's clearly a percussion, and not a conversion to one.
Eliphalet Remington got his his start making flintlocks, then percussion rifles. At that time Fordyce Beals came to work there and did improvements on the Remingtons, some designs of his own, and designed the 1858 Remington revolver.
Remington had his own locks and barrels, and Beals had his own locks before he worked for Remington. If it's not some Belgian knock off, and truly is a Beals, you have a nice piece of history.
