That's right , I said it , write it down.
Lot of folks hating it when their rights or privileges become restricted .....but when it comes to other folk , they got all kinds of stuff to say on whom , what , where and why.

I bet there's a lot of ammo flippers here , selling ammo they bought else where , maybe even cmp ammo ... has to be , who needs all them bullets?...... maybe someone should restrict their ammo purchases......................................... .............

CMP reselling and profiteering is a lot different than what you are talking about. For the record I have never resold anything from CMP and only buy what I personally need.

I was also curious why you are on an a CA specific gun forum attacking the members here about chains sitting lightly and how liberal we are. Isn't there a PA gun forum you can troll on? Usually I don't see this type behavior in your posts.

Nobody said anything about price controls or anything however reselling mass quantities of CMP Garands every year usually is someone breaking federal law. In a truly free market there should be 0 limit on what CMP sells to someone a year or as mentioned they can auction off lots of Garands to the highest bidder.

I always find discussions about the market price of things interesting. It really is quite simple. If the price is too high, don't buy it. The reason prices climb through the roof is that folks keep paying those prices. What really seems to bother the folks, although they won't admit it, is that there are boobs out there who will keep paying the super high prices. What really sets the prices, in most cases, are the buyers who just have to have it and pay too much. But that's just life . . .

I mean, come on, if you want one at CMP prices, order one from CMP. Or, go to the gun show and beg some clown to over charge you . . . apparently they're more than willing to oblige . . . JMHO FWIW

Somebody selling it for $800 is being pretty reasonable. The argument for this as free market is laughable because as I have found most people who argue for it in one situation (example this thread) piss and moan about it in another ie. the housing market, gas prices, what they spent on groceries.

It's a finite supply. If the flippers buy them all and there aren't any more at CMP prices, then lots of people just won't be able to afford one. That's the rub.

Do the Koreans still have that huge stash of Garands that Obama refuses to let them ship back to the US? Maybe the next president will help us out on that and the massive influx of Garands will create a decade of peace between the flippers and Garand competitors.

No , same thing . He who doesn't have it , sees it as unfair.
I know where you must stand based on this alone.

Posts 2 and 4 plus many more , state what they feel is too much.
                        Says them.
How does anyone here know what every guy who buys 12 a year does or doesn't do with them?
And as I said , there are laws and agencies charged with controlling the illegal arms dealers.
If there is an illegal arms dealer than the law should apply as is .............. HOWEVER sitting here and saying some guy can't buy or shouldn't be allowed to buy a certain amount is no different than saying to not selling you a firearm or ammo in certain quantities because some folks are running them across the border.
I assume you don't like the possible up coming ammo restrictions facing you , would that be correct?
well somebody fells different and has a reason .................. logical or otherwise.
So I can assume you're now ok with that.
Arrest the law breakers and leave the rest alone , why restrict them?
For the common good? Cause it easy?
well , cali certainly knows about that ... so why all the whining about rosters , ammo limits , bans?
I see more talk about how many garands someone should have and the only time this dealing without a license pops up is in it's defense of who should be able to buy what.
If a guy buying 10 is ok , why the fuss in other posts on what's too many.
                        Illegal sales?
                        Hardly , more like jealously.
                        And that is sad.
And as for trolling , I've been called that already , I've been thanked a few times also.
It is what it is , when the owners no longer want me here , they can either ask I leave or shut me off............................. that's their right. Do you think I should only be where you think I should be... as well as how many garands is enough for me or anyone else?
And in a free market ... the seller can set what restrictions they want ........that does not mean zero limits if the seller/owner chooses otherwise .......

And if I am attacking , what is with the attacks on people who want to buy what's allowed? All of a sudden they must be a criminal or something.
I've answered a lot of questions here , so I ask , do you want the state of cali to address the actual folks breaking the law ................. or set these possible up coming restrictions across the board... in case you may decide to break the law?

No. No it isn't. If a non papered person were to buy a CMP Service Grade in this fine state, you are paying whatever for postage, $25 for some membership organization like CMP, Money for a notary so about what... $10, $730 for the gun, $75 for out of state transfer with DROS, 8% tax on the gun...... Probably something else that I'm forgetting. That comes out to about $900. So if a regular dude sent off and ordered a CMP Garand and picked it up from his 01, that is what he'd be out. Now, you are saying that CMP sells them for $730, so if regular dude didn't like the gun and sold it for $900, then he'd be profiteering, when actually he would be about breaking even.

Even with me, I got a COE and C&R specifically to order a Garand from CMP. So throw $25 for the membership, $7 for shipping the order out, $10 for notary, $730 for the gun, $90 for the COE, $30 for the C&R, and $19 for the stupid registration fee. That's $911 for the gun.

So regular dud pays $900 for the first one, then $863 for any other single rifle he purchases.

Are you saying that the seller should be selling at $730 and taking a $136-170 hit since CMP sells them at $730, any other higher amount equaling a profiteer?

I consider myself fairly average , but if you want to split hairs , so be it ..... $800 or more it is.
However my cmp affilated club that I belonged to prior or ordering cmp stuff is currently $20 so that is a wash, my notary charges me $2.00 ... so I'll call it $732 for that 1st one. oh yes , the stamp .... plus postage.
I do not know all that a buyer in cali must go through in addition so you can fill in your own blanks.
I am not saying now or otherwise that anyone should sell their cmp rifle for any certain amount in any way shape or form.
however , should someone sell at a loss ..... that's their problem.
I see no reason to do that unless you need a super quick sell.
If you sell your cmp rifle for twice what you paid ..... good for you.
                              No skin off my nose.
If you wish to chuck it into the ocean ............ again ..... not my problem.
No where did I advocate anything about price.
If I sell something , I will certainly attempt to get what I wish. That would be my business as it would be yours when you sell , give away , donate , bury in the yard , etc..........................

                                I wish I could.
I just don't have the head for it.

I "we" actually attend a few movies hosted by a Preacher ....... who brings a popcorn popper and gives out the 1st bag free .................. additional bags being twice that amount.
If you start thinking like a Free Man
You'll begin to feel like a Free Man
And pretty soon you'll begin acting like a Free Man
