    C&R License

Is it still the case that if you plan on NOT renewing your 03-Collector license, that there is no official action required on your part?

I know collectors are not required to send records to the ATF, but do they still need to alert the proper authorities that they are not renewing their license?

    Thank you for your help

Nope, no need to notify and you can toss the bound book if you don't want it for your own records.

Yep, that's what I figured. Just wanted to have it confirmed. Thank you.

Given the pending legislation in California, I could not imagine why you would let your license lapse.

Given the pending legislation in the PRK, letting my license lapse is the least of it.

As we learn more about the looming laws and how they will shake out, I can still opt to renew my license after it has expired. Plus I have the added benefit of a "virgin" bound book.

Affirmative. Once your license expires, you no longer have a duty to keep records.

Hi - working on my collectors license in Santa Clara County. It requires local LE involvement. Does anyone know who to talk to?

              Thanks,

You don't need to talk to anyone.

You do need to deliver a copy of your application to the CLEO for your address.

Who is the CLEO? That would be the head of the department that would show up at your address if you dialed 911.

                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Exactly, could be PD or SO depending on your location.
