I felt really bad having to load up that old clay launcher when we left. You were having the best time with that thing, more than anyone has in the past 35 years.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.

I cried for a while, but I eventually got over it.

It helped that I got to punch holes in Ian's plate

I had a great time, I think I didn't walk down the line far enough to meet everyone though.

Thanks to everyone who let me try out their noise makers. Also thanks to everyone for making my old man feel welcome. He and I had a blast

Got to try some things I never thought I'd even see in person

Brian, cool picture you got of me I half look like I know how to shoot a rifle... even though I never did connect to that bottle in the dirt. The flinch was strong in me after a morning of shooting my 44, 45, 9, K31, and 270

Did you notice the smoky muzzle and the bolt is halfway back? I was trying to catch some muzzle flash but missed it a split second too late.

We made it home with no drama. Looking forward to doing it again. Thanks for putting this together Ian.

I collect Military Arms and enjoy shooting in local matches. I also collect older Lever Actions, especially those chambered in odd/old cartridges. If you have a nice old Winchester or Marlin in 25-20, 32-40, 38-55, 40-60, 45-70, etc etc, please PM me and we can work out a deal.

Surplus addict- thanks again for the planning, lunch & letting me finally try a HiPoint! Lol it was everything I had hoped and more, lol. Definitely gonna look for a deal like you got on yours!

Didn't get to meet everyone, but my wife and I had a good time. Thanks again Ian and Mark for the organization and the grub.

Met a young guy shooting next to us with his new Sig P238 in .380. All stainless, and like a micro 1911. Very nice. Wheels are turning.

Waiting for pics of Ian's steel. I am guessing it is as perforated as the coolie hat.

Yes, me too. I was hoping to meet more folks, but it was a relatively sparse turnout. I did have a great time shooting and BS'ing with Ian and his father/friends, and had a wonderful time with Dutch's pigeon thrower. I also got to shoot a Japanese T38, a couple of Mosins, and Brian's sweet little .357 lever gun........ oh, yeah - I got to spend some real quality time with my Remington 513T. I haven't done that in a good long while. I love that rifle!

The department store dummy was a lot of fun, too.

And to think - I almost didn't make the drive. What the hell was I thinking?

Yes! Even without the flash, that's a cool capture of the muzzle blast. I didn't even notice it when I was looking down the sights

The Python and the Marlin with the skinner sights are both fantastic as well. I'll have to follow you guys out to a Silhuette match one of these days. I went to the Cowboy Action match in Manteca (Sunday), it's fun just watching. Can't wait to try it out!

Awesome! He did indeed. I was a little hard on him about wearing the ear pro, but it's for his own good. I took my little Uberti apart again, at least enough to get that firing pin out. Turns out there was metal shavings in there too. The pin itself had a couple sharp edges that I touched with the Arkansas stone. I'm hoping getting the schmutz out of there, and smoothing out the pin will cure those light strikes. Still love that little revolver

73 RB-Z: Glad you got that Uberti working nice. Good to know you got the firing pin area all cleaned out. I bought a Marlin 795 .22 lr rifle one time and it was all full of metal shavings from mfg also. That sure is a pretty revolver, definitely the most authentic one I have seen. Good pair to your Henry. Some day if you have a kid they will be all set for the cattle ranch with that pair of .22's!

HOLY MOLY work has been insane these last few days. Sorry for not getting on here sooner and thanking you all for the awesome shoot, it was amazing. Dutch, I also promise to get you a photo of the steel tomorrow morning.

SOOOOOO: what do y'all think about November 5th as the next shoot?

It's after Halloween so pumpkins are gonna be less than a buck a pop, and it'll be cool as well. Plus it's the first week, so most of us will have our paychecks to use to buy ammo

                            What say ye?

Wish I could have been there, and glad you guys had a good time. Ian, Nov is to long, and the weather will suck. And yes, more pics!
This is the only place I could think of appropriate to post this.
                                UPDATE:
Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes, the power of prayer is truly an amazing thing!
This has been a week from hell. Mom had bronchial pneumonia when she went to the hospital. She was also diagnosed with cancer....what kind and where, has still to be answered. She was sent home to the assisted living still sick, unable to swallow, with antibiotic "pills", and "in home hospice" to give her morphine, even though she has no pain. In short, the heartless bastards sent her home to die, and morphine to speed it up. Now that hospice is involved, Kaiser Permanente (who they are insured with too) will no longer provide medical services. If I ever find out who was responsible for trying to give her a death sentence, God help them and me, for what I'll do to that person.
With the help of the people at the assisted living, my sisters and I got her to swallow the pills, and got her on oxygen. She is still very weak, frail, and sleeps a lot, but the pneumonia is now clearing up. She is sitting up now and eating again, and coherent while she is. My niece came up from Texas with Mom's only great grand daughter, who had her first birthday here. When she sees mom, she locks in on her, squeals with delight, and wants to be on the bed to play with her and give her kisses. That was the best booster shot she could of had! I don't know how much longer she will have , but I know it will be months more than what they condemned her to. Thank you all again, and please continue the prayers, they work!
