    Question on J&G Chinese SKS's

I want to make sure this type of SKS is legal in CA. I have a local FFL that will take delivery for a low fee.

My C&R is still in the works and I cant wait.....

Good to go. No detachable magazine, no grenade launching attachment.
    C&R nut.

It appears to be banned by name.

Chinese 56 rifle is an AK variant with a detachable magazine.
I support peace through superior firepower.

This. The "56" mentioned in the AW flowchart is a Norinco AK variant not SKS. The SKS linked in by the OP is the typical Chinese SKS we are all accustomed to. Quite misleading model nomenclature by Norinco or the legislature.
          C&R nut.

When you self register make sure you send a pic of the mag well OTW they'll hold up on your registration until they have visual proof it's not an AK type.

Not banned. Follow the flow chart. The Roberti-Roos AW list Appendix A calls out a SKS w/detachable magazine. The Chinese Type 56 SKS has a 10 round fixed magazine, GTG in Cali...

To Flintlock Tom's defense, appendix A of the flowchart says:
                "Made in China: 56, 56S, 84S, 86S, AKS"

So it is quite misleading. The legislature targets the wrong Chinese "56" in this case.

That's what I thought but there seems to be ALOT of confusion on the SKS subject here in Cali. Always good to be sure

The commie legislature keeps it intentionally vague to discourage gun buyers. They go to great lengths to make sure they create as much confusion as possible. It also allows for idiots at the DOJ to make up crap and dispense misinformation to anyone calling to get clarity.

Post pics when it arrives, I've been eyeballing one of those for a while

Also you won't need to "self register" if you are having it delivered to your FFL. That would only apply if using your 03 C&R

On the SKS it seems like they have a major hard on with it. Who woulda thought?

Anyone that has one chime in.
