The poly gun bags should help thwart rust and corrosion while stored in the rifle cases. Throw in a dessicant pack or two as well and you'll be double covered.

Any type of rug, sock, coverall-treated with "what-not" is asking for trouble. They will eventually "wick" moisture from the air, esp where you are living. Some say paste wax. Some say Boshield. Others say frequent oiling, greases, etc. Whatever you choose, consider a large sack of desicant and recharge it in your oven per instructions. Also consider the bucket size "RV" type found at Wally-Wurld or your hardware store if you have the room in your safe. About a ten spot or so each. These have indicators that tell you when to toss 'em. Rust inhibitor chips can still be had and last a year or so.

i have rifles that sit for years without being moved or used. they all have heavy Break Free CLP oil on them..thats it. In a safe with either golden rod or big desiccant bags.

        Thats it.

        All good.

No need to go cosmoline bath.

what about the ones from the dollar tree?

"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

Fragrance free cat litter for Walmart is basically desiccant.

                It's been talked about before.

Similar to this. Just without the fragrance.

Those things work well, just be careful not to spill the resultant juice on anything. That stuff is nasty.
