    M44 price check

I have been out of Mosins for a loooooonggggggg time now. Can you guys advise me what the current value of the following might be?

M44, 1944, Izzy, laminate stock, all stamped matching, counterbored, typical G/VG Mosin bore, stock is in VG, metal is in VG.

I know this used to be a $250 rifle, then went above $300, but dunno what an average value of said rifle may be. Because I don't have a C&R and COE and would have to pay FFL fees I'd be looking at about $280 OTD. Average price these days, or slightly better than average? The price of the rifle is totally acceptable. But the fees start to make it rise up pretty darn quick.

    Thanks.

It is still about a $250 rifle.

I'd say $300 if it was not counterbored and had a mint bore. Discreet import mark versus billboard may affect desirability as well. Laminated stock is a +

I wouldn't go over $300 or so on that. It is a REALLY common year / make.

get a chinese T-53 cheaper and just as good, sometimes better. plenty around for under 200. My 1955 T-53 is just as good as my Romanian M-44 i sold for 375 last year.

You won't get 300 for it. I had a mint 1944 izzy with matching serials, and I had it listed at 300, then 270, then 250 then 225. No one hit on it, and I had it up on here and on armslist. I ended up selling it for 200 dollars and it came with all kinds of accessories. Like it was bedded and shimmed, it had a custom fiber optic adjustable front sight, sticky bolt issue fixed, brand new firing pin spring, brand new extractor, a sight pusher and about 8 stripper clips. Plus all the original stuff that came with the rifle.

I'm looking for a T53, but not a beater. Used to have a bunch of Mosins, just don't have any more so I was trying to get back inyo it. To be clear, I'm not selling. I found this in a local shop.

There were a couple at the Lodi show for $175 Saturday. Guys were trying to move some iron. Saw some decent stuff at fair prices, and some guys were taking a beat down. The local LGS guy has a couple for $250, I think? PAX

I just listed a 91/30, laminate, nice condition. Asked $275 and didn't get one bite.
Figured someone would offer me 250 or 225 but nobody showed any interest at all

I'm still surprised regular 91/30s are selling for as much as they are.

Ok, I'll hold off. C&R and COE apps are in the mail now so i should have them right after the first of the year, hopefully. Then I can do some more looking. Thanks, folks.

I drove by the Lodi Fair Grounds on Saturday about 9:30ish AM on my way out to HWY 99 to go to Fresno. Judging by the massive amount of cars/trucks parked, the Lodi Gun Show looked beyond packed. I would have loved to check it out...

I ended up at the Fair Grounds in Fresno for another function and turned out there was a Gun Show going on down there too...

With a FFL03/COE in hand, $175.00 would have been hard to walk away from even though I already have a M44...

Be careful buying online from private persons or calgunners. So far, my experience with Mosins hasn't been good at all. I Just drove up all the way from San Diego to O.C. to buy a M44 today what was advertised as being in pristine condition. I get there, the seller seems hesitant to have me look at it. I look over the bore, everything looks great. I look at the front sight post and it's bent backwards " Oh, its like a 5 dollar part. They do that like Mauser for a battle zero setting"............ Needless to say when I didn't make him an offer and told him no deal. He walked out all pissed off.... I have his screen name and I am willing to out him if anybody sees a 1946 M44 Russian on the market place.

It seems like anybody selling Mosins nowadays is just trying to make a quick buck and their ads dont accurately reflect what they're selling.

I have sold probably 25 Mosins to calguners in the last 4 years . Sold a 1939 TULA for 250 3 weeks ago. I understand what people expect nice metal, nice wood, no rust and all the parts working properly. Some people have no clue as to what people expect. a bent sight is a big deal.

So SOG equivalent would be $324 PLUS shipping, for what, like $30? So $354 from SOG. Then OOS transfer fee on top of normal so add another $50 for me. $404 instead of $280.
