I sent mine in early Dec, was charged via CC on 12/14, and I got it today 1/16 in the mail!

Now what do I do with it? All I got was the license in the mail, no letter, paperwork or anything.

exactly, by sending out a copy of your 03FFL, it does a couple things. First is, if your FFL is only file with a dealer, if you decide to buy from them, you can just give them a credit card number and have it shipped immediately. No need to wait for the mail to get there before they ship. Also, many of those dealers have mailing lists that you can get added to if they have your FFL.

Now what do I do with it? All I got was the license in the mail, no letter, paperwork or anything.

You'll get a separate package with more stuff. It'll have a book of all the laws and some other stuff. It won't have a bound book, you'll have to supply your own. Either buy one, of find one of the PDFs floating around the net. Print out a couple pages and put them in a binder, and ta-da, bound book.

DOn't sign your original license!!. Make copies and sign the copies. Those are what you send out or give to local dealers.
