FFL3 Question

The Rifles are in my log book and I would obviously log then out once sold. If the buyer is an 03 like me and has a COE, do we still have to go to 01 FFL to do a ppt? Or can I simply get his copy of 03 and COE and give him my copies and exchange rifles for money and call it a day? Both of us would obviously have to update our log books and buyer would have to send in a form...

So, what is the law now? PPT at 01 for everything? These are not antique or black powder guns.

If the buyer has a 03FFL & COE, get a copy of both, give him a copy of your 03FFL, exchange the rifle for the cash and call it a day. There is no need to get a 01FFL involved. Just be sure to record the disposition (sale) of the rifle in your bound book.

CA Penal Code 27966 exempts 03FFLs + COE holders from having to go through a 01 FFL to purchase C&R rifles.
