CMP Garand Question...

I've been checking back from time to time on the CMP website but all they ever seem to have are SA, HRA, National Match or Sniper models.

I really want an International Harvester Garand. Will CMP ever have them again?

Possibly. You need to hang out on the CMP forum. They'll occasionally mention what type of rifles they've got that they will be grading and releasing in the future.

I've read from Orest (head of CMP) that they don't expect to sell IHC Garands and if they do get them they would probably go to auction.

If you're hunting for an IHC cruise all of the gun boards and auction sites. I came across a great deal for one last year.

i've been looking for a IHC for awhile too. the best i could do so far, is a IHC receiver from CMP that went to orion 7 for a 308 barrel. it'll have to do until i find one.......

I miss my AFPG. I got it from one of the guys I shot with at Lackland AFB. The Ex-wife sold it while I was off TDY...
It's living somewhere is South Carolina, I guess, being unappreciated for what it is...

You will not be disappointed. They are truly beautiful and the one I had looked almost brand-new. The stock was actually brand new...

I placed an order for an HRA Special 30 days ago but I think I missed out on these. I sent an alternate order for a SA Service Grade. They were not able to confirm which rifle I will receive in my confirmation email so it's going to be a surprise! It will be my first Garand. Hopefully, I'll get it by the end of the year.

I have applied for membership to the CMP forum twice and have never received approval. Anyone know why this might be happening?

If you get on their email mailing list you'll get the updates when some new inventory comes up for sale.

regarding the HRA special, do you have an account at the cmp e-store? if so log in and check your pending orders. it will list, your garand by description...i.e. SA service or HRA service special. i thought i missed the HRA special too as my order arrived that weds and i did not get a confirmation email. but then later i found that i have an open order for the HRA special and since they recently billed my CC for that $amount, i think i may have gotten lucky.

most important advice i can give you.....order the 30-06 surplus from CMP while you still can.

I've been waiting for a tractor gun as well, but we are going to be disappointed for a while. According to the GCA Journal, there are less than 100 IHCs in the latest batch they received from Greece, and they will be going to the auction. And that batch is all they will be processing for the next couple of years, at least as far as Garands are concerned.

I have a couple IHC's and still like my HRA's better. I might like the IHC's a little more if I had a IHC Scout to go with them though!

Really? I have always heard people love the IHC Garands because of those LMR barrels and their great accuracy.

No doubt! I have a couple HRA's that have original LMR barrels as well.
