    C&R FFL...

I don't care if it's beating a dead horse or been talked about 100 times over here... Will someone knowledgeable please inform me of what the benefit of obtaining an C&R FFL (without COE) does! There is way toooo much mis-information on the web and I cannot get a solid answer. I just applied for mine and I was under the impression by having this license I could PPT or purchase and have firearms from outta state FFL's ( like Classic Firearms, Aim, Buds Guns, etc) and have them shipped straight to my door. Is this NOt the case? Do I still need the COE? How difficult is it to obtain a COE? Thanks in advance for any info that helps sort this sh*t out for me...lol

Most if not all of out of state dealers will require COE, easy to get, just need a bit extra time and money

With a C&R FFL and a COE you can have C&R long guns shipped to your door, then you have 30 days to self-register them. All pistols must go to an FFL, but you can often take them home the same day if they are C&R. Getting a COE boils down to filling out a form and writing a check.

Ok, but what does the C&R FFL do alone, without COE? Also, does anyone know if I have to do a second live scan seeing as I have my BSIS Guard Card and Exposed Firearms permit (which required a live scan already)??

Nothing in CA. The COE has become a necessary attachment. Not sure if you go to Nevada a lot, or other close states, but you could get your online purchases shipped to dealers there, pick them up and drive across the boarder, then register.

You are going to need a new live scan. I'm sure. If you plan to buy more than 1 C&R rifle, the trouble is worth it.

So on page 3 of 3 on the COE application, do I leave blank for DOJ to complete or does the Live Scan place complete this page??

It has been a few years since I did mine but I believe you just fill out the middle section and the live scan person fills in the bottom.

And then you have to renew it yearly

I went to a live scan place which was a place they also do like notaries and such. Anyway, the lady there downloaded the forms told me where to sign and did it all for free or nearly free. I paid around $90 for the COE and I got it in about a week.
She even gave me an envelope and stamp so I dropped it off right after.

A heads up on the COE app, when the guy at UPS store wrote in the ATI number on my copy of the livescan app (page 3 of 3) I could not tell if his 2 was a Z or if his I was a 1. I had to verify what the hell he wrote in. This ATI number needs to be filled in on the Certificate Of Eligibility App (page 1 of 3) that I mailed to thr CA DOJ. FYI (page 2 of 3) is the instruction page...

I know CA DOJ gets the correct number when my fingerprints got rolled and he hit send on his computer but I am sure if I got tha ATI number wrong on the Cert App I mailed it would have thrown a monkey wrench in the gearbox...

I look forward to Big Brown Bessie bringing my Yugo SKS to my front door...

does having COE extend to new firearm purchases (both PPT and from store FFL)?

The only crossover benefit of the COE in regards to non C&R firearms is a exemption for the FSC requirement. If I am wrong somebody here will correct me...
