    RC P.38 and a Webley Mk.IV

I just got back from Reno with the newest additions to my collection. The first is a RC Walther P.38 made in 1944. I picked this one up from Wideners for $495. Overall it appears to be in great condition. The bore looks brand new. The whole thing is covered with a thin layer of grease. Next up is the Webley Mk.IV in .38/200. This one came to me from Simpsons. Due to it being a war finish revolver, there are obvious tool marks all over the frame. Despite the rough finish, it still feels very well made. Like the P.38, the bore looks almost brand new. The import mark is very discreetly stamped on the bottom near the lanyard ring. More pics to follow once the P.38 gets out of its mineral spirit bath.

    Nice
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

What was the price tag on the Webley? With your C&R you're able to bring these back without a ten day hold?

The Webley was $395. Probably could have gotten one cheaper if I scoured the auction sites, but I feel like I got a good deal. If you go to the Simpsons website and look in the Webley section its probably still listed as being sold. And yes, with my C&R I picked them both up from Steve at Timber Outdoors. No wait, just paperwork to fill out.

Quick question for those of you who own a P1/P38. There seems to be a lot of discussion about what ammo to use with it and whether or not the recoil springs need to be changed immediately. Is any non +P 9mm ok, or do I really need to stick to the Winchester stuff that everyone swears by? I have a couple boxes of Herters I would like to use if its safe.

I've shot Tula steel & Blazer brass through a CYQ P38 without issue. The only problems I had were some of my lighter reloads when I was testing various charge weights, so that's not really an issue with the gun.

I've never heard about Winchester being the preferred brand, only to avoid +P.
