Agreed, the Finns are the way to go. Both of my Mosins are Finns, an M39 and an M91.

Yep, the Finns used any receiver they could get their hands on. They never made their own.

I've got a VKT M91 with a New England Westinghouse receiver, a few other Finns with scattered NEW/Remington parts. Most of the Remington/NEW M91s on the market are Finn marked.

                  Great collection OP!

Do you get a chance to shoot them?

I shot my first Mosin Nagant at Los Altos Gun and Rod Club and had a blast.

Needs more Finns, as everyone else says, as well as an SVT-40, Degtyarev, and PSL.

The one Mosin I had that I regret selling was a Romanian M44. The stock was beat to $#!+, and had dents and gouges galore, but the metal was so new that I doubt it got fired more than a couple hundred rounds (and probably not even that - likely just carried a lot on garrison duty) since it left the factory. It shot more accurately than any of my other Mosins except my M39s

Thank you! I've shot most of them, just not the M44, PU or the M59 yet.

What's the correct stock on the 59? Did they cut down 91/30 stocks?

I'd kinda like to do my own 59 conversion... I have a pretty beat up 91/30 that swallows a bullet pretty far (but doesn't seem to be counterbored), I wonder if anyone has done a home 59 conversion.
