I have five rifles that I have collected over the past four years that I want to sell. I bought them all at Big5 and turners, but I think they might all be C&R. Mosin Nagant 91/30, Yugo M24/47 mauser, Enfield No. 4 Mk. I, and a Swiss K-31. I have done cosmetic work on all but the Yugo, refinishing wood and metal, so would that void the C&R status. And if they are C&R does that mean I can sell them to someone without a FFL doing the paperwork? Or do they still have to go through an FFL, I don't have a C&R license. Also I have a Yugo 59/66, but I don't know if that is C&R. Thanks for the help guys.

The 59/66 is not C and R in California, and has to go through a FFL 01. The rest are, even if you have cleaned them up, and can be transferred to an individual who you are reasonably sure is allowed to own a firearm. The few times I have done this, I have asked for a DL copy, another form of proof of California Residency, and a simple statement that the person affirms that he or she is not prohibited from owning firearms. I would only do this face to face.*REMOVE THIS PART BEFORE POSTING* -
If they are more than 50 years old, then you can sell them face to face without DROS.Please read the Calguns Wiki

If they are in your name which if you bought them from Big % then you want to do a Private Party Transfer to get it out of your name. I will take the 24/47 just let me know how much you want for it.Comment

That only applies to handguns, which are registered to you at the time of DROS. DOES NOT APPLY to long guns. Please read the Calguns Wiki

Damn guys, I'm sorry but I think I am going to hang on to these for a bit longer... I was going to sell them to free up some funds for an ar-10 in 6.5 creedmore, but the only barrel length i could find is too long for my tastes... So I don't really need the money anymore, the SKS is up for sale now though.sigpic

Don't sell the SKS!
That's the funnest and still near cheapest shooter you got. Plus it's semi.
The Mauser, k31 and Enfield are gonna blow your shoulder out after 20 rounds a piece anyway. You can shoot an SKS all day long and it will eat any ammo you throw at it. No worries about corrosive ammo either.
Keep em all if you must but def don't sell the SKS.

Make sure you look at all the updates. http://www.atf.gov/firearms/curios/ .Sorry to highjack the thread, but I could not find a Yugo M24/47 on the C&R list,
maybe I looking at an old list, could someone help me out.
But in this case, the M24/47 does not appear to be specifically C&R listed, but it doesn't have to if it is 50+ years old. ATF does not automatically list all firearms that have become 50+ years old. They are automatically C&R and do not need to be listed.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
