1903 Springfield model identification please

Whatever it is, it's been sporterized. Looks quite nice, but the stock and what looks to be rear peep sights are not original. We need better pictures in order to give you a better answer

It's been sporterized (popular in the 50s and 60s) sporter stock and peep sight. What's the serial number range? At least the barrel was not cut down. Take some close ups of the receiver and the date on the barrel.

Looks like it's a redfield peep sight.
I'm trying to make out the serial number on top of the receiver in the pic, it might be too low in the 322xxx range.

Is it Rock Island Or Springfield? If it's a Springfield, it would be considered a low number unsafe to fire. They had issues with single heat treatments making the receiver brittle. What's the barrel date?

I can build an AR for less than these are selling for right now so why not?

Of course ID want one with a good receiver.

An original condition/configuration 1903, yes, you can build an AR cheaper.

Can you build an AR for ~$250? That's all this rifle is worth.
